Danh tự và phân bố
Bình vôi hoa đầu (Stephania cephalantha) là dược liệu rễ củ của cây dây leo thuộc họ Tiết dê (Menispermaceae), phổ biến ở Bắc Bộ và Bắc Trung Bộ. Cây có tên gọi khác như Ngải Tượng, Tử Nhiên, Củ Một, Củ Mối Trộn. Phần dùng làm thuốc là rễ phình thành củ, hình dạng giống bình đựng vôi, vỏ ngoài màu nâu đen, thịt trắng xám, vị đắng.
Thành phần hoá chất
Năm 1940, Bùi Đình Sang đã chiết từ củ bình vôi các chất tinh bột, đường khử oxy, axit malic và me.
Lưu ý tham chiếu
Tuy một số nguồn ghi nhận tên khoa học là Stephania glabra (Roxb.) Miers hoặc Stephania rotunda Lour, gây nhỏ lệch trong niên tảng tham chiếu.
